Open Cell Manufacture of TV in India

Customs Duty on open cell for LED, LCD TV panels reduced to 5%
NEW DELHI, MARCH 24, 2018

In a move to promote domestic manufacturing, the government has decided to reduce customs duty on ‘open cell’ used in the manufacturing of LCD and LED television panels to 5 per cent from the current 10 per cent.

This move is based on request of  industry players to reverse the custom duty hike on open cell and other components used in making TV panels.

This will help the government’s Make in India vision and may lead to a developed manufacturing ecosystem in TV production.

  1. The growth of open cell manufacture of TVs in India is a great step toward strengthening the country’s electronics and technology sector. It can reduce import dependency, create employment opportunities, and support the “Make in India” initiative effectively. This topic is also very useful for students researching industrial development, manufacturing strategies, and economic growth. I found this discussion highly informative and valuable for academic purposes. Students looking for reliable thesis help can also use such topics to develop strong research ideas and detailed academic projects related to technology and manufacturing industries.
